Write what the photograph shows

A line needs a date, a plant or beetle, and the weather that afternoon. Caption only what is in the frame. A missing picture stays an empty well — these first notes are the form, not a trip that did not happen.

The form

Three facts and a picture. The date is the day the photograph was made. The plant or beetle is named with a common name and, when known, the Latin from a UF/IFAS page. Weather is rain, dry wind, or a freeze warning — not a mood.

1. File the picture with the date.
2. Name the plant or beetle in the frame, then stop.
3. Link the live paper. Do not invent a harvest.

Empty wells

These first notes teach the form. They are not a field trip, a sanctuary log, or proof that the yard is winning. When a picture exists, the catalog grows.
